Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As the Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she's responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and the newly formed Space Force up until commercial space companies, and even the rise and development of space tourism. Kristin has a background in the sector of space, as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years, she has covered space policies under Biden and Trump administrations in FOX News. In addition to covering impeachment trials of two presidents and the presidential campaign for 2020, as well as both administrations' efforts to limit the outbreak of coronavirus, Kristin covered a lot of other things. Kristin travelled extensively, including both the president and vice president. She was even on a secret trip to Afghanistan together with Donald Trump. Before being hired by the channel in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up through the local news channels in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Utilizing her expertise in front of the camera Kristin founded Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company focused on making documentary-style movies for clients of corporate nature, including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a graduate in journalism from Boston University. She lives with her husband in Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
